Tadeusz Płużański – (1971) is an outstanding Polish historian, journalist and publicist, the author of several popular publications dealing with the recent history of Poland, including the two-volume book series called Bestiak, which is about the crimes of Stalinist functionaries. He is currently the president of the "Łączka" (Little Meadow) Foundation, whose mission is to cherish the memory of the Cursed (Unshakeable) Soldiers. His father, Tadeusz Ludwik Płużański "Radwan", was one of the closest associates of the great national hero, cavalry captain Witold Pilecki.

Witold Pilecki was the exceptionally brave Polish hero who first informed the world about the extermination of the Jews of occupied Poland by the Germans. To bear witness to the truth, he voluntarily went to Auschwitz, where he organized a resistance movement. Pilecki sent the first news report in which he described the prevailing conditions in the camp from Auschwitz to Warsaw already in October 1940. A few weeks later, the information reached London.
