- Ferenc Gyurcsány is a jerk peasant, do you understand?! - said Gyula Gansperger during one of the negotiations in connection with the sale of the City Hall. This is evident from the uncut audio recordings that Anonymus previously provided to the authorities, and the transcripts of which are part of the investigative materials of the ongoing criminal proceedings. Magyar Nemzet will examine these documents in the coming weeks.
The City Hall case erupted after a masked figure, Anonymus, made several audio recordings public in the fall of 2021. From the recordings sent to the editors , it became clear that the extremely valuable City Hall building complex and the land belonging to it were secretly wanted to be sold under the left-liberal city leadership of Gergely Karácsony in exchange for multi-billion bribes. In connection with the real estate, a person connected to the left made deals with Russian, Italian, American and Israeli investors.
The discussions with the Russian investors and their intermediaries were presumably recorded by one of the participants. Based on the audio materials, the picture emerged that a well-defined circle specializing in real estate sales in the capital operated a corrupt, so-called commission system, so that certain individuals received kickbacks.
interrogated three people last fall on suspicion of influence peddling . Zsolt Berki, who is considered a key figure in the corruption system operating in the capital and is closely linked to the left, and his brother József Berki were suspected in the City Hall case The former approached several well-known business circles in Hungary regarding the purchase of the City Hall, and it is worth mentioning about the latter that he worked alongside the late Péter Kiss at the time when the former MSZP minister's head of secretariat Ambrus Kiss was the current deputy mayor.
The police have already questioned a Crown witness in the case, who are continuing the criminal proceedings.
