The failed prime ministerial candidate of the left gave another amazing, self-revealing statement, this time on the March 29 broadcast of Hódmezővásárhely television, where he was asked about his one million HUF court sentence. Here, Péter Márki-Zay explained that he will pay the one million fine from campaign funds received from America without going bankrupt.
So, if, despite this, the court imposes a fine of some kind because of my mistake, I will obviously pay it, just like last year, when I couldn't go to it without a trial during the campaign period, and because of that I was sentenced to a fine of one million forints in my absence. I will pay that too, of course, thank God, from the campaign funds, without going bankrupt myself. Still, thanks to so many lovely supporters, these lawsuits won't bankrupt me anytime soon.
