the Carpathian Basin can be awarded to both men and women, with which they recognize the outstanding activity that the awardees carry out for the preservation of Hungarianness beyond the border.

Kinga Szőnyi also said that the Golden Búzaszem is the work of goldsmith Éva Magyar, and the award for the Survival of Hungarian Families in the Carpathian Basin is the work of ceramic artist Mária Petrás. The beautiful, hand-painted certificate accompanying the awards is created every year as a unique work by code writer Katalin Szalai.

The main patron of the event Mónika Dunai , head of the family affairs cabinet of the Fidesz-KDNP faction alliance, vice-chairman of the cultural committee of the Hungarian Parliament, congratulated the awardees in a video message and wished them further successful and productive work.

Andrea Hideghéthy was praised by Zsuzsanna Márton, the president of the Association of Family Organizations of the Carpathian Basin, emphasizing that she got to know his activities and his motto during their long working relationship, according to which the

not to fulfill our tasks, but to surpass them every time possible. Andrea is characterized by complete determination, completing tasks at the highest possible level, and the search for perfection in every moment.

His public career in the Highlands began in the fall of 2014, when fate brought him together with Erzsébet Pogány, the late director of the Association for Common Goals. This is where the period that continues to this day began. Along with Erzsike, he gained insight into the operation of the organization. He had the opportunity to get involved and participate in the work of organizations belonging to the Association of Family Organizations of the Carpathian Basin operating in the Highlands and the entire Carpathian Basin, primarily in the coordination of organizations in the Highlands region.

It has always been characterized by social sensitivity. It is important for him to help the needy, the disabled, or simply to put a smile on the faces of children and family members. In 2016, he took an active role in the launch of the Felvidéki Mental First Aid Telephone Service, the first and only phone service in the Felvidék operating in Hungarian, which can be dialed by anyone who wants a word of understanding. He is a member of the board of trustees and a supporter of the Association of People with Disabilities in the Highlands, FEFOSZ, where he also gained important contacts.

Over time, Erzsike entrusted him with more and more tasks, until after his death in 2018, the task of managing director fell on Andrea. This new level step placed him with greater responsibility than ever before. As a rule, he asked the question whether he would be able to meet the expectations, whether he would have the strength to keep alive and flourish the intellectual heritage he had left behind. The answer was already in an envelope: Yes.

He was able then, as now, to realistically assess the weight of the situation before him and find the best possible solution every time. What he does, he does with complete dedication. - concluded Zsuzsanna Márton , president of KCSSZ.

Additional awardees

The 2022 winner of the Golden Wheat Award in Hungary is Anna Nagy, president of the Single Parents Club Foundation. Angéla Brinzik , a member of the Komáromi district presidency of the Alliance party, emphasized in her praise: A decade ago, almost no one thought of "single-parent families" as a social group with the same or similar problems and therefore could be supported with joint solutions. Not even the people involved. The fact that real communities and community advocacy are organized around the Single Parent Centers in Budapest operated by the Single Parents Club Foundation and the rural and cross-border centers is the merit of Anna Nagy.

For the first time, a posthumous Golden Ear of Wheat award was given, with which they paid tribute to the memory of Tompa Magdolna Kinga Szőnyi was moved and said about their board member: If I had to put it briefly, I would say this: he is the one who dedicated his earthly life to doing things for others, for the common good.

The 2022 winner of the Award for the Survival of Hungarian Families in the Carpathian Basin  was Irma Simó from Transylvania Kinga Szőnyi read Mónika Dunai's eulogy, in which she emphasized: Irma's strength lies in dreaming up and attracting the resources necessary for implementation, both human and material. In addition, it is able to create a constructive and creative atmosphere where people can find themselves and develop their abilities. In addition to his professionalism, his work is characterized by a human-centered approach, creativity, innovation and youthful vigor. His never-failing enthusiasm stemming from his desire to help and his deep faith is the driving force of an entire professional community and is a lifeline for many people in need of help.

Members of the Kéméndi Bokréta Folk Dance Ensemble and the Ifi-Rock Theater from Felvédz took part in the award-giving gala.
