Hungary's ambassador to the Vatican, Eduárd Habsburg, shared an unusual story about Pope Francis, who gave an interview to the portal Vatican News regarding the Holy Father's visit to Hungary . The ambassador is very confident that the Pope will finally be able to drink a good glass of Tokaj wine in Hungary, because he joked about it during their first meeting.

When we first met, he turned to me and said: "I know what is the most sacred thing in Hungary." When I asked what it was, I expected him to mention the Holy Crown, but he said:

"Tokaj wine!"

- recalled Eduárd Habsburg in the interview

The ambassador also touched on the fact that the visit to Hungary is an extraordinary opportunity for the Pope to rekindle the Hungarian faithful, even more than he did, for example, two years ago. Then he only came to Budapest for a short time, after officially visiting Slovakia. At the same time, he is meeting Hungarians for the third time, since in 2019 he also held mass in Csíksomlyo in front of around one hundred thousand Hungarian believers.

First, he learned about our country from Hungarian nuns who fled to Argentina from the 1956 revolution. Eduárd Habsburg also revealed how the Pope sees Hungarians.

"Pope Francis believes that Hungarians are good, honest and brave people. A Swiss Guardsman, who accompanied His Holiness' car in Budapest, later said that the Holy Father was moved by the cheering of the crowd that welcomed him during his visit to Budapest two years ago.

added the ambassador.
