The American left criticizes Hungary for ideological reasons; radical left-wing ideologies captured the US state machinery, said Chris Rufo, senior researcher at the American Manhattan Institute, at the Danube Institute's event in Budapest on Tuesday.

According to the press release reporting on the event and delivered to MTI on Wednesday, the head of the Manhattan Institute spoke at the event with American conservative journalist Rod Dreher, director of the Danube Institute's Network Project.

In the summary of the event, it was written that, according to Rufo, who came to Hungary as a guest researcher at the Danube Institute, critical race theory and "Wokism" want to abolish all American institutions - including the traditional rights of Americans - for the sake of an overriding equality.

Related to this, the "queer theory" claims that the existing institutions in society must be dismantled because they maintain "heteronormative" systems that limit sexual fulfillment. "Succumbing to the pressure of radical activists, this ideology has spread widely in American state institutions and large companies, providing the latter with a lot of publicity if they embrace fashionable voices - the guest researcher was quoted as saying.

Rufo pointed out that this ideological wave is being confronted in America by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is also considered a potential presidential candidate of the Republican Party, to whom he was an adviser for a while. DeSantis knows the bureaucracy well and knows how to stop the advance of the "woke" within the institutional system.

He emphasized:

American conservatives should no longer seek to minimize the state, but should reclaim the state and use it to stop radical leftist ideological aspirations.

According to Rufo, Hungary has shown that it is possible to successfully deal with radical left-wing ideological trends. He cited the strengthening of church education and the launch of conservative elite training as examples.

According to him

Hungary can be an inspiration for Western conservatives, which is why the country receives so much criticism from the mainstream press.

" Regarding possible American sanctions against Hungary, he explained: Hungary is being attacked by American foreign policy for ideological reasons, and the Budapest government must definitely resist this pressure, " they wrote, quoting Chris Rufo in the statement.
