Indiana's Republican governor signed into law a law banning sex-changing surgeries and other medical procedures on children. With this legislative step, the Midwestern state joined the conservative-led member states that have tightened their child protection rules in the past, in the face of LGBTQ propaganda and gender ideology that increasingly violently ensnares minors.
The law, which will enter into force on July 1, specifically prohibits doctors and other professionals from
[gender reassignment operations and other non-surgical treatments] on a person under the age of 18 (minors) , as well as to assist another doctor or specialist in such a procedure, or to instigate another to do so".
The legislation thus prevents, among other things, the use of puberty blockers or hormone therapies on minors.
The law defines gender reassignment surgery as follows: "any medical or surgical procedure that aims to surgically alter or remove healthy physical or anatomical features or characteristics characteristic of an individual's gender in order to achieve a physiological or physical appearance reminiscent of a gender other than the individual's gender. create or create anatomical features, including sex reassignment surgery or non-sex reassignment surgery knowingly performed to facilitate the individual's gender reassignment”.
“Gender reassignment surgeries [and other medical procedures] with lifelong effects should be performed as adults, not as minors„
- declared the Republican governor, Eric Holcomb, who signed the law, in connection with the tightening.
And Republican Senator Mike Braun said that Indiana will no longer allow minors to take dangerous, untested and unapproved drugs with long-term consequences, and to undergo irreversible surgeries, because these children need compassion and emotional support , not for irresponsible treatments.
With the current legislative step, Indiana has joined the conservative-led member states that have recently taken action against LGBTQ propaganda that increasingly violently ensnares minors, and decided to tighten their child protection rules. In the month of March alone, several public acts in this direction took place: the Republican-led state of Mississippi, like Indiana, also banned sex-changing interventions on children, while Republican representatives of Florida presented a bill to further restrict sex education in schools.
The situation caused by gender ideology is becoming more and more extreme all over Europe, and more and more scandalous cases of harming children are coming to light. Hungarian society has also been shaken to its foundations by the recently publicized domestic cases. Perceiving the danger and reacting to it, the government announced further tightening of the Child Protection Act.
