On Thursday, Péter Szijjártó held a press conference in Budapest, where, in response to a journalist's question about the announcement of the American ambassador the previous day, he emphasized: Hungary is located in the neighborhood of the war, while the United States is an ocean away, so the assessment of the situation of the two governments obviously differs from this. "There isn't the amount of posters, there isn't the amount of press briefings, there isn't the amount of dollars poured into the opposition that would dissuade the Hungarian government from its pro-peace position, so it's a shame to try this," he warned, and then put it this way:

And they ask us not to be seen as a colony by anyone in the world, but as a country.

We do expect the resulting respect from everyone, regardless of their economic strength, location or the size of the given country," he added.

There is brotherhood between Hungary and Poland

In response to the Polish ambassador's statement following his visit to Moscow this week (this is a difficult moment for us, the dialogue is continuous, but not easy, said the ambassador. ed.), the minister said that Hungary and Poland are not just friendship, but brotherhood there is, so even though the two governments really use different approaches to the war, the Poles can always count on the support of the Hungarians, and the reverse is also true.

"Of course, there is no conflict that can tear this brotherhood apart or override it. It seems that we can talk to each other in a cultured tone. We do not qualify each other when we use different approaches," he pointed out.
