A group of hundreds of people who refused vaccination against the disease caused by the new type of coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) (Covid-19) held an illegal demonstration and attacked journalists on Saturday in Berlin.

In one of the central districts of the German capital, Friedrichshain, according to police data, approximately five hundred people gathered at the unauthorized demonstration. Several people were detained for violating the epidemiological regulations and resisting the police.

The protesters also attacked several journalists. One of them - who was filming the illegal demonstration with his mobile phone - had his device taken away, which he managed to get back after a struggle. The alleged perpetrator must be held accountable for attempted robbery.

According to the report of the regional public service media company Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB), for the duration of the movement, on Saturday afternoon, a demonstration was originally organized under the title We say no to compulsory vaccination, but it was not allowed due to the expected violation of infection control rules, but the organizers tried to mobilize their supporters on the Internet.

In Germany, they are planning to introduce compulsory vaccination, not compulsory vaccination.

According to the plans of the new government, which is expected to take office on December 8, the German Ethics Council (Deutscher Ethikrat), an independent body of experts dealing with the investigation and formulation of proposals on moral issues affecting the German community as a whole, will be asked to develop a resolution by the end of the year, on the basis of which the matter can be debated and decided in the federal parliament (Bundestag). The obligation can be introduced from February. Violation of the obligation would not result in a coercive measure, but a violation fine.

According to the latest data from the executive federal government on Saturday, 126.6 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been administered during the 345 days of the vaccination campaign so far.

57.3 million people - 68.9 percent of the population - are fully vaccinated. 13 million people - 15.7 percent of the population - received the refresher dose after the full vaccination.

The campaign has gained momentum in recent days. In the week that ended on Friday, an average of 743,000 doses - roughly nine shots per second - were administered per day. At the beginning of November, the daily average was around 300,000.
