According to the announcement, in addition to the hospital managers, the leaders of the government organizations responsible for healthcare management, as well as healthcare professional and advocacy bodies - among others the Hungarian Medical Chamber, the Hungarian Chamber of Health Professionals, the Hungarian Residents' Association and the Hungarian Women's Defenders Association - took part in the meeting. managers. The general directors of the controlling county and city hospitals also took part in the meeting.
At the professional meeting, the Ministry of the Interior provided information on the most important topics, goals and tasks affecting healthcare. Despite the current, difficult war and sanctions situation, the government's goal remains to improve the care of patients at general practitioners, in specialist clinics and in hospitals, they wrote.
They pointed out that, in addition to the extraordinary expenses caused by the war and the sanctions-induced energy crisis, 1,600 billion more will be spent on health care in this year's budget than in 2010.
The government continues to raise the wages of doctors and nurses. The salary of doctors last increased by 11 percent in January, and the next salary increase for nurses may take place from July this year, the announcement reads.
Another goal was to reduce the waiting lists that have increased due to the coronavirus epidemic, so that all patients can get a diagnosis at the right time, as quickly as possible, and treatment of the disease can begin in the shortest possible time.
"In order to improve the state of health of the Hungarian people and to diagnose diseases early, the priority goal is the expansion of public health programs, screenings, and the encouragement of screening tests performed by general practitioners," they wrote, adding that primary care by general practitioners, the on-call system, the operation of specialist surgeries and hospitals will continue. , measures to improve healthcare IT services, as well as the laboratory system.
