The initiators of the December 15 – Romanian-Hungarian Solidarity Day association appealed to the leaders of the Romanian government parties with a complaint, requesting the ouster of Prime Minister Marian Neacsu due to the rejection of the name of the NGO, lawyer Előd Kincses, founding member, informed MTI.
the Nicolae Ciuca , the president of the National Liberal Party (PNL), Marcel Ciolacu , the president of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) and Kelemen Hunor , the president of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (RMDSZ), was sent electronically by the Előd Kincses on behalf of the founding members .
In it, the initiators outline the more than one-year ordeal of registering the association and accuse the Prime Minister of Romania of abuse of office, violation of the right of association and freedom of speech. They claim that Marian Neacsu behaved arrogantly and condescendingly towards them, which is incompatible with the position she holds. Therefore, they are asking the prime minister to dismiss him, and they are also asking the ruling parties to take a stand on the issue.
László Tőkés on December 15, 2021, the anniversary of the 1989 revolution that overthrew the communist dictatorship in Romania . The other founding members are human rights activist Gabriel Andreescu lawyer Előd Kincses Florian Mihalcea , president of the Timisoara Society and Zsolt Szilágyi , former chief of staff of László Tőkés.
The registration of the non-governmental organization has not been completed since then, as the first step, the acceptance of the name, was blocked by the Government Secretariat, it is explained in the submission. They point out that Prime Minister Marian Neacsu overstepped her authority when she asked the initiators to change the name, citing that, according to the general opinion, December 15, 1989 is not the day of the outbreak of the Romanian revolution. The founding members had to turn to the General Secretariat of the Government to check whether the use of the term "Romanian" in the name was legal. After a long delay, the government body rejected the request in January, and the name was changed to "December 15." objected to his element. He justified this by saying that December 16 is considered the beginning of the revolution in the Romanian public mind, so a different date could cause misunderstanding , and he requested a name change.
The founders of the association want to remind you of the Romanian-Hungarian collaboration that took place in Timisoara on December 15, 1989, around the person of László Tőkés, and they want to show the events of that time in their reality, since in their opinion there are more and more misinterpretations of the historical event.
