Attila Péterffy, the MSZP mayor of Pécs (pictured), refused to clarify at Tuesday's board meeting to whom he had given out municipal apartments under his authority. The independent representative Zsolt Hencsei, who asked the questions, was curious, among other things, whether the beneficiaries selected from among the needy applicants were persons connected to the left-wing city administration, for example the ex-wife of one of the deputy mayors. In parallel with one of the leases, HUF 15 million was received under suspicious circumstances from the MSZP to a company belonging to the city administration's court.
The mayor of Pécs, who has a socialist background, could rent municipal apartments to his own circle instead of needy applicants. At the board meeting, Attilá Péterffy was called on by Zsolt Hencsei, a representative of the left-wing Tiszta Kezek faction, to clarify the basis on which he decided who should be the beneficiaries of the properties.
Among other things, the independent representative was curious as to whether the resident of Pécs with the monogram PA is the same as the former wife of Lajos Nyőgéri, deputy mayor responsible for social areas, and if so, what was the reason for Péterffy, acting under his own authority, to extend the woman's lease during the pandemic period for the apartment in question.
Zsolt Hencsei also asked whether the mayor was convinced whether the beneficiary needed to use the municipal apartment, and whether it would not have been justified to rent the property to someone else among the applicants standing in line. – Another question is whether the aforementioned apartment was used as a lifestyle by the person with the PA monogram during the contract period, i.e. until March 31 this year, to whom it was rented out on the basis of need, or whether it was rented out for business purposes or to someone else for business purposes? Is it possible that this property was accidentally left out of the checked ones? asked the municipal politician.
Hencsei also asked Attila Péterffy about another property in connection with unusual financial transactions between the left-wing mayor's circle and the MSZP.
– Is Mrs. Gy. L., a resident of Pécs, the same as the business partner of the current wife of Deputy Mayor Lajos Nyőgéri? If so, on what authority did the lady receive an apartment, so that according to the information revealed in the press, HUF 15 million was received from the MSZP alone in the same period, under the legal title of consulting, to their joint company? asked the independent representative. Ms. Gy. L. - she continued - with what documents did she prove her request, and on what basis did the housing management group present it to the public welfare committee?
