Among other things, Gergely Gulyás Gulyás of the Government Information Center spoke about the fact that hundreds of thousands have died in the war so far, more and more weapons are being brought to the front on both sides, and thus the war may drag on for an unforeseeable time. Some Western countries are sending depleted uranium weapons, while the Russians are testing nuclear weapons, he added.

The government's position that NATO should not get involved in the war has not changed.

He said: the government is fighting against sanctioned inflation. According to Gulyás, as long as there is war and sanctions, there will be inflation. The goal is to have single-digit inflation by the end of this year, many factors must contribute to this, the price policy of the large food chains is being monitored,

the price caps were extended until June 30.

Gergely Gulyás said: the government welcomes the intention that the Monetary Council can decide on the reduction of the upper edge of the interest rate corridor, which may point in the direction of a decrease in the loan interest rate.

Hungarian agriculture was also mentioned in the Government Info: Gulyás announced that agricultural irrigation will be free this year, and the government will cover the costs of this.

Another decision regarding utility reduction was made at the government meeting: in the case of micro-enterprises, their electricity consumption above the average consumption will be adjusted to residential market prices, all of which means that the price of one kilowatt will be HUF 70, Gulyás announced. The minister emphasized:

they maintain the policy of overhead reduction.

In relation to Ukrainian grain, the minister emphasized: grain exports are ruining Hungarian farmers. "The Hungarian agricultural market cannot be destroyed by Ukrainian grain again," said the minister. It turned out: transit deliveries are still possible, only deliveries to Hungary cannot be made. Gulyás also said that according to the current rules, the ban on the import of Ukrainian grain products will last until June 30.

Alexandra Szentkirályi stated in relation to price caps: there is no excuse for trickery. Each store must provide the prescribed amount of stock of the price-stop products. As long as the price caps remain in place, the authorities will constantly check. He added: there is no room for profiteering in these difficult times.
