Former Mayor István Tarlós spoke to the Pesti Srács about the fact that Gergely Karácsony held a press conference on the capital's financial situation and announced that Budapest had gone bankrupt. According to Deputy Mayor Ambrus Kiss, the government took 148 billion from Budapest, which is the cause of the difficulties.

István Tarlós explained to the paper that Gergely Karácsony's communication technique, either due to external pressure or perhaps by himself, is that whatever happens that is unfavorable, he immediately points to someone,

everyone can be guilty, but not the current city administration.

He took over the leadership from István Karácsony Tarlós with a reserve of more than HUF 200 billion.

The current Deputy Mayor Ambrus Kiss responded to the question of what happened to this huge amount: "It's very simple, 144 billion must be found at Mihály Varga, since he collected so much money from the capital's money in connection with the business tax in 2020-21-22 , and took away so much money as surplus.”

According to István Tarlós, it can be noticed that the current city administration groups the facts as it pleases: he pointed out, they compare the amount of the solidarity tax with the state aid, while remaining silent about two indisputable facts. One is that they

they left more than 200 billion in reserves. The other is that business tax revenue for the capital has increased by HUF 107 billion since 2019.

It must be reported to the capital if they declare bankruptcy.

He emphasized: the self-government law stipulates that the Capital City Self-Government can only spend resources on non-mandatory tasks if the mandatory tasks are covered. If the municipality goes bankrupt, they write, they will immediately see from the beginning of their term how much money and what kind of non-mandatory tasks were spent and paid out without ensuring that mandatory tasks were performed.

He added: these are very serious matters, and it can be done now that they do not talk about them for the purpose of making such a profit in communication, one can hope for short-term political benefit from this, because obviously a certain part of the opposition media will stand behind this and interpret it as they see fit. most favorable - writes Pesti Srácok. According to Tarlós

although some of the opposition media willingly assist, this technique cannot be sustained in the long term,

because there has never been such a time in the world that the management of a bankrupt municipality could remain completely intact from the point of view of the case.
