After Ferenc Gyurcsány spoke at the end of March that he believed that Gergely Karácsony was not fulfilling his patriotic duty by refusing to involve Budapest in the fight against the government, Gergely Karácsony announced a few days later that he was going to tough it out, once again envisioned bankruptcy in Budapest and announced that he would "terminate financing of the government", i.e. not paying more solidarity tax.
Olga Kálmán, the spokesperson of the shadow government of the DK, reacted to the development as follows at the shadow government briefing on Monday: "If the mayor of Budapest decides this way, then we cannot evaluate it other than that it was the right thing to do."
At the same time, to the question of Mediaworks, shadow chancellery minister Csaba Molnár said that he does not see that Karácsony's attitude has changed, it is simply that the capital can no longer pay. The Pope's visit was also a topic of the shadow government briefing.
Csaba Molnár said that there will be politicians from DK who will decide to go to the event, but the party will not be represented centrally.
As you may remember, Ferenc Gyurcsány said in a previous TV interview that he "was hanging around for a while", so the question was obvious whether the party chairman would participate in the festive event, but Csaba Molnár could not say this.
