The week of the papal visit is a special occasion for the head of state to use his power of pardon, so the president of the republic decided to grant pardons widely on this occasion, the Sándor Palace published on its website on Thursday.
The announcement states that the President of the Republic, among others, pardoned those convicted in the case known as the Hunnia trial, in whose case he decided to suspend the imprisonment. Thus, György Budaházy and his five companions were able to leave the prison already on Thursday evening!
