According to last year's census data, Hungarians are no longer the majority nation in Subotica, Serbia: out of 123,252 inhabitants, 38,174 claim to be of Serbian nationality and only 37,200 are Hungarians, Subotica.com reported.

According to the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, compared to the 2011 census data, 13,269 fewer people identify themselves as Hungarian. The proportion of the Croatian population has also decreased significantly (currently there are 10,431, but a decade ago they were 14,151), but the number of Bunyevacs has also halved compared to the data of a decade ago.

In Subotica, there are 3,432 Roma, 2,187 Yugoslavs, while the number of "extraterrestrials, hobbits, Jedi, elves and other people" is 5,901. Among those interviewed, 13,380 did not declare their nationality.
