Although a year has passed since the defeat in the parliamentary elections last April, the left still does not undertake a public and direct dialogue with the voters, at least this may be one of the reasons why the domestic left, abandoning the decades-old tradition, is not organizing this year neither together nor separate major events. Those one or two stray attempts accurately show the current self-esteem and strength of the disintegrated left-liberal side.

The XX. In the 19th century, May 1 became the biggest international workers' holiday, next to the Soviet Union, in the countries of the socialist bloc, where large-scale parades were held every year on this day. After the regime change, the marchers disappeared, but the Mayans remained. At this festival welcoming the spring, you could praise or criticize a measure with the party politicians over a glass of beer and a couple of hot dogs, and in the past 12 years, the left-wing sympathizers have had a good opportunity to have a good time.

It is a fact that due to the coronavirus epidemic, there were two years when larger events could not be held, or only with partial cancellations, and the left could benefit from not having to face the loss of popularity. The last big majal was in 2019, the year of the EP elections, then of course every party held a campaign majal.

However, after last year's parliamentary election, the left-liberal side, which was first united and then disintegrated, was forced to hide, and considering the current poll data, it is no wonder that they are not trying to organize a bigger event either together or separately this year, reports Magyar Nemzet .
