In the former Carmelite Monastery, Pope Francis spoke out against gender culture and the right to abortion.
The Pope identified gender culture as an example of the "low road of ideological colonialism", which erases differences, and called the so-called right to abortion meaningless, which always means a tragic defeat.
"In this regard, one of the founding fathers predicted: "Europe will exist, and nothing will be lost of what constitutes the glory and happiness of each nation. It is precisely in a larger society, in a stronger harmony that the individual can assert himself".
We need this harmony: a whole that does not overwhelm the parts, and parts that fit well into the whole but retain their own identity. The wording of the Hungarian Basic Law is indicative in this respect:
"We believe that individual freedom can only unfold in cooperation with others", and: "We believe that our national culture is a rich contribution to the diversity of European unity."So I am thinking of a Europe that does not become a hostage of its parts and a victim of self-referential populism, but also does not become a liquid or even gaseous thing, a representative of a kind of abstract supranationalism that does not take notice of the lives of peoples. This is the vile path of "ideological colonialism", which erases differences - as in the case of the so-called gender culture - or puts narrow concepts of freedom before the reality of life, for example, boasting as an achievement the meaningless "right to abortion", which always means a tragic defeat. "
Welcome to Pope Francis! Thank you for drawing the attention of Hungarian decision-makers to these two important problems that deeply affect our country.
