Until March 31, you can apply for the non-refundable nursery school subsidy of up to HUF 40,000 per month at the Hungarian State Treasury (MÁK) to support the return to work of parents raising young children from all over the country - the MÁK drew attention in its Thursday statement.

The subsidy can be used for the placement of children under the age of 3 in a non-municipally maintained daycare center - for example, a family daycare center, a workplace daycare center, a mini daycare center - as well as the personal reimbursement fee for childcare during the day. Those parents who are raising a small child older than 20 weeks and who start working again after applying for the support can apply for a maximum of HUF 40,000 per month, the announcement states.

Since the start of the tender in 2019, families have received nearly HUF 1.2 billion for this purpose, and more than 8,973 parents have benefited from this support. The available budget allows parents with young children to continue to apply for support, which they can do until March 31, 2023, and it is still possible to submit payment requests until June 30, 2023. The treasury transfers the kindergarten subsidy to the parents against an invoice every month, until the child's kindergarten education begins.

The main goal of the government is to support families raising children and to facilitate the coordination of work and private life. Therefore, family tax relief, Csoc, Village Csoc, gyed, graduate gyed, tax benefit for young married people and the allowance for expecting a baby are still available for those preparing to start a family, as well as a new element: from January 2023, those 30 young women under the age of 12 who have children - informed the Hungarian State Treasury.
