Acting Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger asked President Zuzana Caputová to dismiss her, who announced this at his Sunday press conference in Bratislava. His decision was preceded by the fact that two ministers of his government announced their intention to leave this week. The President of the Republic did not find any of the acting Prime Minister's proposed solutions to the government crisis acceptable.

Zuzana Caputová announced yesterday that, having no other solution, she will appoint an executive government in Slovakia for the period until the early elections scheduled for September 30. The head of state said: it will be headed by the current vice president of the Slovak National Bank, Lajos Ódor .

Thus, for the first time in the country's history, Slovakia can have a prime minister of Hungarian nationality.

Acting Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger previously justified his decision by saying that the head of state did not accept any of his proposals, which, he said, would have been a safer solution than appointing a government of experts. The acting Slovak Prime Minister announced his decision after two of his cabinet ministers announced their intention to leave on Thursday and Friday.

Eduard Heger - after his government failed in a parliamentary vote of no confidence against him - has been performing his duties at the head of the executive government since last December.

Heger, who in an extraordinary televised speech on Thursday emphasized that in order to avoid instability, the executive government must remain in place until the September elections, said on Sunday that he wants to give the head of state the opportunity to lead the country stably by appointing a government of experts in September. until early elections.
