Regarding the incident, Gábor Kálomista said that the theater did indeed receive an inquiry in which the agency highlighted that Martin McDonagh considers it unacceptable that the character of Toby is played by a masked white actor , and that they want a colored actor for the role.
Gábor Kálomista was surprised to receive the agency's letter, because the Thália Theater started performing McDonagh's play in 2016, which the agency did not object to seven years ago.
