Their plan did not work out for those protesting against the status law, Katalin Novák did not rise to the provocation, instead she mingled in front of the Sándor Palace with the teachers and students who wanted some purple inside the building.

Unusual scenes took place at the Sándor Palace on Sunday, after teachers and students protesting against the status law wanted to take advantage of the open day of the presidential office to protest inside the building, Telex reported.

But while they were standing in line to get into the building,

the President of the Republic, Katalin Novák, appeared to talk to them.

Between the surprised protestors and Katalin Novák, a dialogue began, not at all similar to the events of the past few weeks, in which, to the head of state's question, the teachers told what their problem was with the status law and the current situation of education in general.

Surprisingly, even Lili Pankotai, who was harassing the protesters recently, asked a question instead. However, according to some of the protesters, the teacher-career model is a "huge sham" and the solution is not for the President of the Republic to come out in front of the Sándor Palace and "condescend" to them. Katalin Novák called this remark insulting, since, as she said, she came out to the street to hear their opinion.

Katalin Novák said:

fully agrees with the criticism that teachers' wages are low and should be raised regardless of EU funds.

The protesters also asked the president of the republic not to sign the law, but the head of state said that he obviously cannot make such a promise.
