Like a lost herd, the Left Liberos were bad for the National Ambulance Service after the route management made a mistake when they misjudged the emergency call of the Gálvölgyi family.
The error did indeed occur, but with an average of 3,200 calls per day, it is unfortunately almost impossible to rule it out. Well, there was a flood of angry comments, which would be understandable, but those who describe the service summarily (and often in an inferior style) act as if the traffic controllers are just wrong in every case. Which is a lie.
Of course, it's no consolation for the person(s) concerned, but unfortunately it's a fact that those who receive emergency calls are only human. Their work is all the more difficult because they are practically forced to establish a remote diagnosis based on a few symptoms. It's sad, but it's inevitable that they get it wrong from time to time. Unfortunately for them, this happened in the case of a well-known, well-liked, left-wing actor. Well, the leftist "politicians" and their press immediately started the political heckling campaign.
As is now well known, János Gálvölgyi was taken to the hospital last Wednesday in a serious condition. Ambulances were also alerted for the actor, but after waiting for them for an hour in vain, the family took him by car to the Heart Clinic in Városmajor. The National Rescue Service ordered an internal investigation into the case, which established that the rescue controller made a mistake in not classifying the case as life-threatening.
Sensing the "tsunami of hate" regarding what happened, the National Ambulance Service responded to the criticism on social media on Monday morning.
"The friendly community of the National Rescue Service consists of 8,500 dedicated lifeguards who are united by a noble goal, the desire to help. They see their work as a profession, which they serve at the highest professional level every minute of the day, regardless of the social, religious, ethnic or other affiliation of the patients. Due to a management error committed in connection with the case of a well-known artist, this has now been questioned by several media and a political attack has been launched against the ambulance service. With this, they create the false impression that the comrades are not doing everything for the patients and question the expertise of the ambulances, with which they help 1.2 million needy people every year. The comrades of the National Ambulance Service continue to do their work conscientiously and to the best of their ability and help EVERYONE IN NEED! Thank you for your selfless service!"
Unfortunately, the announcement - and the internal investigation - cannot make the events unhappened, and unfortunately it cannot be guaranteed that something like this will never happen again. There is no ambulance service in the world where infallible people work - just as there is no healthcare where medical errors do not occur. However, one (or a few) such mistakes - although this is terrible for those involved - no one has the right to slander those who otherwise work for them in an unqualified tone. And anyone who tries to forge a political advantage from this cannot be accused of decency.
Fortunately, János Gálvölgyi is now out of danger, the artist's daughters reported this in a video message.
