A huge battery factory is also being built in France - Neither the population nor the opposition politicians protest

France was chosen by the Taiwanese company ProLogium, which will build a battery factory in Dunkirk in a 5.2 billion euro investment. Neither the population nor the opposition politicians spoke out against the factory, which employs 3,000 people, reports VN4A.

Hungary did not delay when Europe decided that the future belonged to electric cars, which obviously also need an electric battery, but in connection with the construction of the CATL plant in Debrecen, the opposition immediately sounded the alarm that this was not good for Hungary from an environmental point of view.

Despite this, a factory has already been handed over in Germany, with left-wing and green representatives in the front row, and now it's France's turn, and ProLogium also enjoys the support of the country's leadership. In his speech, Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire highlighted that a real valley is being established in the Dunkirk area with the production of batteries for electric vehicles, ensuring industrial activity for several decades. ProLogium thanked the French leadership and Emmanuel Macron for their trust.

The French opposition did not feel the need to speak out - or make political use of the matter - even as the announcement of the mega-investment in Taiwan came just a day after Emmanuel Macron announced the law he wanted to implement to create a green industry and its measures to make French and European industry greener and more competitive in order to ensure sovereignty.

Based on information from Le Figaro, the recently announced plant will be the fourth huge battery factory in Nord County. The Taiwanese company, founded in 2006, is scheduled to start production in the Dunkirk factory in 2026.
