The Csíksomlyó farewell and Katalin Novák's Transylvanian "tour" were an unmissable opportunity for Romanian politics to collect nationalist votes.
As is well known, Katalin Novák shared a video clipped from footage from Csíksomlyo, during which the crowd sings the Székely national anthem, and she only added this accompanying text to the video: "Don't let Transylvania be lost, our God! #webelong”.
Then the entire Romanian media freaked out like a diabetic daycare worker in a chocolate shop, the Romanian foreign affairs office started to harass the Hungarian embassy in Bucharest because of Novák's "inappropriate public messages", and on Monday Master Ciolacu also said on his Facebook that he "definitely rejects" Katalin Novák its "unacceptable" and "revisionist" manifestation.
Of course, Marcel Ciolacu tries to make use of every surface in the public where he can increase his popularity, since he will soon become prime minister.
We can only quietly add that Katalin Novák did not even pay an official visit to Transylvania.
