III., who was on a private visit to Zalánpatak, took part in a picnic and walked in nature. King Charles.
The residents of the Kovászna county settlement were surprised with a picnic featuring local products on Saturday III. King Károly and the Hungarian folk songs could not be missing from the good-humoured event, at which the British crown prince clearly felt good about himself.
The king left the estate accompanied by Count Tibor Kálnoky and others. He wore sunglasses, a simple, pale blue, short-sleeved shirt, cream-colored trousers and hiking boots, just like the count, who is a regular companion of the British crown prince "going home" to Transylvania. Károly also had binoculars around his neck, and like the Transylvanian nobleman, he also had a walking stick, according to the Chronicle.
The British monarch greeted the people in an extremely relaxed atmosphere, shook hands with them, exchanged a few words with them, and then, accompanied by locals and tourists, left for the picnic site held on the meadow at the edge of the village.
The English monarch walked the few hundred meters from his home to the picnic site, receiving flowers from the locals, including his favorite flower, the peony. Charles behaved with the same ease and simplicity towards the locals as when he walked the hills surrounding his estate as the Prince of Wales.
Tables full of traditional local food, including honey, cheeses, sausages, bacon, local bread and delicious traditional cakes, awaited in the meadow. The king stopped by the tables and evaluated the products, and the locals entertained their distinguished guests with Hungarian folk songs. When the representatives of the press appeared, the British monarch had already started walking in the surrounding meadows, accompanied by Count Kálnoky and some of their friends.
“We always wait for him with wildflowers and he kisses us. We don't need to know his language or he ours, we understand each other," a local woman told the press. “My husband keeps bees and we bring him honey every time. He loves it because it's natural and we give it to him every time. He was a prince until now, and he is still the same as when he came to us. But now he's cool and it's more important that he comes to our village," said another local resident.
Károly also met the local Roman Catholic priest. "I have been the priest of the village for a year and the king asked me if I had any communion wine. I told him how it was, so I made him some bottles. I also brought sweets to make us feel good and conveyed the greetings of the Transylvanian Roman Catholic priests," Adevărul.ro portal quoted the parish priest as saying.
Returning from the tour III. Károly once again greeted those waiting for him, then retired to the estate, where he has been staying since Friday evening and will stay until Tuesday, when he will visit his other, also much-loved estate in the village of Szászfehéreygháza in Brasó. The villagers are waiting for him here, and nearby guest houses are also packed with tourists curious about the crowned prince.
