A rough incident took place on the day of national unity in Székelyudvarhely, where Hungarian and Székely flags were torn down and scattered by some people.
On the anniversary of the Trianon peace decree, on Sunday, June 4, an unpleasant interlude disturbed the celebration in Kossuth Lajos Street in Székelyudvarhely, when a person tore down the displayed flags.
The local and state police questioned the suspects on the spot and escorted them to the police station.
The incident happened after the commemoration. László Szabolcs, head of the Székelyudvarhelyi Local Police, told Székelyhon: their unit received a report at 7:45 p.m.
Several people went to the Millennium Memorial Column in Városháza tér in Székelyudvarhely, where they tore down the displayed Székely and Hungarian flags. Within a short time, local and state police rushed to the scene. The local police managed to identify a person of Galaci origin, but three others present refused to provide identification and were escorted to the state police.
The classification of the act must be established by the state bodies. The collection of evidence also took place on Sunday evening.
