The 14th Hungarikum Days festival is approaching, which attracts thousands of visitors every year. Its main goal is to present and nurture Hungarian folk culture and traditions. The event will take place from June 30 to July 2 in ASTRA Skanzen in Sibiu, one of the largest village museums in Europe, which with its more than 300 buildings and huge area provides the perfect venue for the event.

During the three-day event, a number of gastronomic and cultural programs await those interested: a fair of primary producers and artisans, demonstrations of crafts, folk dance and folk music performances, children's programs and concerts, all of which contribute to learning about and nurturing Hungarian folk culture and traditions, Hungarian cuisine. At the same time, children's activities are extremely popular, where the youngest can learn about Hungarian folk culture and traditions.

The best-known open-air, Hungarian event in the region will not miss artisans and primary producers this year either, the fair's official opening will take place on Friday. At Gasztro square, visitors can also take part in craft demonstrations, and in addition to traditional Hungarian delicacies, they can taste brandy, craft beers and wines. The fair is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday will be colored by the youth concert of the Dream Flow band.

The main attraction of the event for the general public is the cooking competition , which will take place on Saturday, July 1. The amateur teams compete by preparing Hungarian dishes in a pot. The participants come from different settlements in the Carpathian Basin to show who makes the best goulash and hot pot dishes. Teams can enter the competition by June 20 by filling out an online form .

On Saturday, there will be no shortage of cultural programs, those interested can watch the performance of the Citera Group from Nagyszebi (instructor and group leader: Júlia Bucz ) , the concert of the Daniel BRASS DANCE brass band, and the performance of the BEKECS Folk Dance Theater. During the day, the TOKOS Band and the TATROS Ensemble will also perform, and the day will end with a dance hall.

On the last day of the event, Sunday, the participants will have a real gastronomic experience, where the chefs of the jury will present the world of Hungarian cuisine with their dishes, which will be possible to taste. There will also be folk music on the second of July, the FINOM Orchestra, the Golden Hearts Pensioners Association will perform with a bunch of folk songs, and then Daniel BRASS DANCE with a brass performance. The ESZTERLÁNC Orchestra will be performing and the dance hall will not be missed on Sundays either.

This year, the dessert specialty of Mikóujfalus casserole will be prepared again, and visitors can taste this on Saturday. On Saturday and Sunday, the István Losonczy Preservation and Sports Association of Temesvár will be present, as well as the Kalibáskő Forest School, where, in addition to the yurts, you can try archery, caning, whipping, braiding and weaving.
