The former star of Elementary Instinct, Sharon Stone, recalled the other day how the film industry treated her after she became seriously ill.
Speaking at The Hollywood Reporter's Raising Our Voices event last week, the 65-year-old actress recalled how Hollywood turned its back on her after suffering a stroke in 2001.
At the gala, Sharon talked about how the profession forgot about her after her stroke.
"In 2001 I had a stroke, I had a one percent chance of survival, it lasted nine days. Then I recovered for seven years, and during that time I had no work at all.”
The actress admitted that at first she didn't want to tell anyone, because she was afraid of exactly what happened later, she lost her job.
“At one point in my life I was a huge movie star. Then I had a stroke, and it was as if everything I had put on the table before became a blur.”

It's not the first time Stone has found himself in a clinic in the last years of his career. The actress recently revealed that she lost custody of her child at a time when her career was on the rise due to her role in Basic Instinct.
"Today, people simply strip naked for the sake of a movie, but then I lost my child for one sixteenth of a second of nudity."
Stone was literally heartbroken by the court decision, after which he was admitted to a heart clinic for a while.
