After the 100 meters, Boglárka Takács also improved the Hungarian record for the 200 meters on Thursday, who handed over the half lap record set by Irén Orosz in 1981 to the past with her winning time of 22.77 seconds in the bronze category of the International Athletics Federation's continental series in Budapest.

The 21-year-old sprinter from BHSE knelt down for the start of the 200 barely an hour after the target photo's 100 success, but he didn't seem fazed by the previous record. He got off to a great start and ran at an excellent pace, his movements didn't become convulsive at the end, and he finished first with a convincing lead. The information clock showed a time of 22.86 seconds, to which Attila Spiriev, the sports professional manager of the Budapest 2023 Gyula Zsivotzky Program Office, jumped to his feet in joy, because it was already clear that not only the longest-standing individual record of Hungarian athletics - 23.06 seconds - had been broken, but also that for the first time a Hungarian female galloper ran within 23 seconds. According to the official results, the winning time was even better, 22.77 seconds and the new peak.

"I am very happy with the two records. The 100 wasn't perfect, especially the beginning, but this 200 run went well, even my coach, Roland Németh, said that you can't get involved," Boglárka Takács happily told MTI, who previously competed in the classic race He reached 11.23 seconds.

"Of course I was also happy with the 100, we keep moving forward," he added.

He noted:

the 200 meters is just an additional number, he didn't even consider it seriously so far, so it didn't occur to him that he could compete in this distance at the World Championships in Budapest in August, but now they are thinking about it.

The number was memorable not only because of Takács' run, but also because of the performance of the only 18-year-old Alexa Sulyán, as the galloper from Gödöllő greatly improved the Hungarian U20 record of 23.34 seconds achieved last week by finishing fourth with 23.12 seconds.
