Hungary has set a record for successful international competitions in Olympic sports, IOC President Thomas Bach Nemzeti Sport
As far as I know, they have hosted more than twenty World Championships and European Championships in the last five years, which is probably an Olympic record, far ahead of everyone else.
I have seen quite a few of these competitions, they were successful, we benefit both from the love of sports and hospitality of the Hungarian people, as well as from the efficient organizational work. If I look at it from the perspective of the IOC, the Agenda2020 program revolutionized the organization of the Olympic Games, making it more sustainable and cost-effective. I feel this is a good opportunity if it fits into Hungary's long-term plans.
Hungary can be a wonderful host, but first the Hungarian sports movement, the government and the people must take action.
If this is achieved, everyone in the Olympic movement would be satisfied - Thomas Bach said about Budapest's chances of hosting the Olympics.
