Ukraine sent a note to the European Union, in which it urged the review of the nuclear reactor construction project of the Russian nuclear energy concern Rosatom in Hungary, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denisz Smihal said on Telegram.

"Rosatom is part of the Putin regime, supports Russian terrorist acts and threatens nuclear facilities.

We expect that they will review the preliminary decision on the implementation of the Hungarian nuclear reactor construction project by Rosatom," said the Ukrainian Prime Minister.

He added that he had already raised this issue in his speech at the Ministerial meeting of the Council of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) held in Paris on Wednesday.

"In the light of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant disaster and the Russian occupation of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, such decisions seem surreal"

- emphasized Smihal.

According to him, sanctions against Russia should be tightened, especially in areas such as nuclear energy.
