A small village in the Csongrád-Csanád county was the scene of a seemingly unusual life-saving operation, where an old woman is still alive thanks to a special signaling system and her girlfriend.
Everyone is familiar with the situation when the children and grandchildren move to the big city, while the grandparents are already used to the quiet, peaceful life in the countryside, which they would not change for anything. But when they are left alone, there is a risk that they might get into trouble and we are not around. This is exactly what happened in Bordány, where two elderly neighbor women developed their own signal system between them so that they could pay attention to each other, Bors wrote.
They have been living opposite each other for several years, so they maintain a very good relationship. Due to their age, it is difficult for them to move, and since both of them are over eighty, they thought that some kind of signal system should be invented so that they could check each other's condition. The resourceful old ladies finally figured out that they would use the shutter to communicate.
They agreed on what it would mean. If a small part of the window is already visible at the bottom, but the shutter is almost completely lowered, then the other is still sleeping. If only 8-10 stripes are visible from the blinds, then he has woken up, but not yet. In the event that not a single slat is visible from the shutter, it indicates that the other one is up.
The family smiled at this, too, until one morning when one of the aunts called her daughter in desperation that the girlfriend had not moved the blinds even in the afternoon. Since the aunt was not in the habit of sleeping for such a long time, the daughter of the calling aunt informed her other sons, who soon arrived at the aunt's house.
Who, as it turned out, had been lying on the ground since dawn because he fell and couldn't get up, and the phone wasn't near him. After that, he was taken to the hospital in a serious condition, where he recovered for several weeks.
Since then, the aunt is back at home and she and her old friend continue to try to pay attention to each other.
