Gergely Karácsony's "poll" announced as the "first Budapest Residents' Assembly" received only 136,000 responses, despite the extended deadline and the propaganda announced every three minutes on public transportation services. But this doesn't bother the chief citizen at all, what's more, he feels strongly empowered by it. As in a pineapple.
He writes on social media that a
"The will of more than 136,000 Budapest residents is an authorization and a duty. The first Budapest Residents' Assembly is a clear declaration of support for Budapest, independent of party sympathies, but a clear response to the anti-Budapest joke policy. Budapest set an example, it also set an example of a new kind of political culture. Thanks for."
Now, if 136,000 of the roughly 1.7 million people in Budapest voted (one way or another, who knows), there is no strong legitimacy among the brothers either.
Karácsony, on the other hand, sees it differently, according to him, the slogans can, sorry, continue:
"Today I presented the detailed results of the Budapest Residents' Assembly: Budapest chose the future. Change instead of habits and dogmas. Justice instead of injustice. Instead of whispering promises, the power of the given word. The success of the first Budapest Residents' Assembly and the high number of participants place an obligation on all decision-makers whose task it is to shape the future of Budapest. It imposes an obligation on the mayor, the Metropolitan Assembly and also imposes an obligation on the government. I will inform the Prime Minister about the latter in a letter tomorrow."
All in one - like this, when 163 thousand decide instead of two million - it once had a name...:
"I am submitting a proposal to the Capital Assembly to use its right of referral to oblige the government to review the sarc policy affecting Budapest
I inform the Minister of Finance that Budapest will not pay any more solidarity contributions to the government, at least until the administrative lawsuit against the government has been legally concluded
I am sending a payment notice to the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Construction and Transport for the immediate payment of HUF 6 billion of the government contribution agreed to the renovation of the Széchenyi Chain Bridge
BKK is finalizing the current traffic order of the Széchényi Chain Bridge and we are continuing the planning aimed at greening Clark Ádám tér and Széchenyi tér.
These are the first steps. But there will be more. This was the first Budapest Residents' Assembly. To be continued…"
