We must pay attention to how we talk about the elderly, because nowadays we can easily offend someone by saying that they are old. There is an expression in common language that is not necessarily only used in relation to the elderly, but it is a fact that pensioners most often use this tool to facilitate shopping.
Most people only know the rolling shopping cart as "banya tank", but let's face it, it's not a very nice term, and many may feel that this catchy name describes those who use it.
On television, presenters have to pay extra attention to what they say, but it sometimes happens that something slips out of their mouths during the live broadcast, which can't be cut out afterwards, at best they can apologize to the viewers for it.
An apology would also come from RTL, because one of their reporters insulted the elderly. If there is a show where you really have to pay close attention to who says what, it's the news. The fact that RTL also feels that the defamatory term should not have been used can be seen from the fact that the wording on the television's website has already been refined and they now refer to a shopping cart: "The shopping cart rolls more smoothly, the bags are lighter after shopping."
