The president of the Russian upper house spoke at a meeting about how György Soros tried to buy Russian education by the pound at the time, paying special attention to the teaching of history.

the Russian newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta , Valentina Matviyenko, the president of the Federation Council, revealed how György Soros became angry overnight.

"I see that since the nineties we have missed many things in school education, including the teaching of history. Then others wrote the textbooks for us"

Matviyenko said at a meeting with the participants of the "Memorial Train" project on the sidelines of the forum of the Russian and Belarusian regions in Ufa.

The politician said that when he was deputy prime minister in Yevgeny Primakov's government, he was approached by the American financier György Soros. At that time, the businessman gave subsidies, supposedly for the modernization of education, but according to Valentina Matviyenko, this money was used by foreign experts and specialists.

They sat down and wrote the history textbooks for us, it is clear in which direction they were written"

- continued the president of the Federation Council. Then he came and said, "I hope we will continue to work with you, the new government... We have prepared another $100 million tranche for you."

And then I told him: "Mr. Soros, thank you, but we don't need money, and then we will find money for education ourselves. History must be written by our scientists, historians and teachers.

And we no longer need your services."

According to Matvienko, when Soros started the conversation, his face was smiling and benevolent, but everything changed after he refused. “Here came such a, you know, benefactor to ennoble Russia. And when I told him thank you, we no longer needed his services, I had the feeling that he dropped his mask. His eyes were so angry, his face was angry.

He didn't expect such an answer, but he realized that their time was up."

said the president of the upper house.
