At the meeting of the heads of state and government of the EU member states, the Hungarian and Polish prime ministers prevented the issuance of a joint position and communiqué on migration until the two countries' migration-related concerns are addressed. Emmanuel Macron, Olaf Scholz and Charles Michel held talks with Viktor Orbán and Mateusz Morawiecki late into the night, Politico reported.

the newspaper 's information, French President Macron, German Chancellor Scholz and European Council President Charles Michel held talks with Viktor Orbán and Morawiecki late into the night, and then closed the meeting around one in the morning.

Poland and Hungary prevented the issuance of the joint statement because they object to the previous majority-principle agreement of the interior ministers, which was reached against the opposition of the Hungarians and Poles, according to which they would once again attempt to distribute the migrants.

At the same time, whether the European Council agrees on migration or not, the agreement of the interior ministers remains in effect.

Hungary and Poland also expressed their opposition at the summit, but nothing more has happened so far.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte suggested returning to the issue of migration at the next EU summit. Belgian Prime Minister De Croo said

the issue of migration will now always be on the agenda.

He believed that the intention for the current agreement is very serious, but the question is whether the leaders of the EU member states will be able to formulate a unanimous, joint position on Friday.

The leaders of the EU member states did not agree on the migration and asylum reform until Friday afternoon.

The Prime Minister told Radio Kossuth on Friday morning:

the European Union wants to oblige Hungary to create "migrant ghettos" and to accept tens of thousands of migrants every year.

Viktor Orbán called the procedure outrageous, during which the decision on the migration quota system was forced through the council of the Union's interior ministers "like a coup". He recalled the previous agreement according to which the union only decides unanimously on migration.
