"How does it feel to talk about national benefit in such a way that you got rich from privatizations? How does it feel to talk about national wealth from a confiscated villa?" asked State Secretary Ferenc Gyurcsány in the Hungarian Parliament.
The parliament will hold a three-day extraordinary session this week, the representatives will decide on a summary amendment motion including the main figures of the 2024 budget. The president of the DK spoke before the agenda, talking about the fact that there are no common national goals, instead there is only "loneliness, drift, stagnation". The DK president then started talking about the domestic economic situation, starting with the statement that "one percent of the nation's wealth is in the hands of one percent".
In his reply, Csaba Dömötör informed Gyurcsány that advice and cooperation are indeed necessary in difficult times, but "if there is a politician from whom we are reluctant to accept advice, it is you".
He listed that under the left-wing government there was no utility subsidy, unemployment was 12 percent, and on top of that, neither the price cap nor the interest rate cap was supported.
Dömötör made three requests to Gyurcsány:
- With all possible means, the DK president should take action against the financing of the left from abroad.
- Don't demand that mayors go to war with the government.
- In relation to EU funds, the left should not work against its own country.
