József Bogdán, papal chaplain, honorary canon of the Szeged-Csanád Cathedral, retired parish priest, died in the 67th year of his life, in the 40th year of his priesthood.
The funeral news was published by the Diocese of Nagybecskerek on Sunday night.
József Bogdán was born on January 12, 1956 in Zentá. It was her stepmoha's childhood, after her mother died when she was four years old, at the age of 27, her alcoholic father did not care for her, and she and her two siblings were placed with rude, illiterate and atheistic foster parents, who sent them away in 1970.
He completed primary school in Magyarkanizsa and Nagybecskerek, then graduated from Szent Pál High School in Szátka. In 1983, he obtained a degree in theology and philosophy from Diakovár in Croatia, and was also ordained a priest that year.
He was also involved in literature, eleven books of poems, one book of literary documents with poems and two sociographic works were published. He was a member of the Hungarian Writers' Association from 1999.
József Bogdán will be cremated on July 4 in the Nagybecskerek Cathedral, and after the expiatory mass, he will be laid to rest in the priest's crypt of the Nagybecskerek cemetery.
