The Minister of Construction and Transport acted decisively after it was revealed that a train had scalded its passengers.

"This cannot happen!" - wrote János Lázár in his Facebook post, who ordered an immediate investigation into the train accident.

"Six passengers were injured when one of the motor trains broke down at Hodász. I ordered an immediate test! This cannot happen! Due to limited resources, we cannot implement as many improvements as we would like, the trains are not as punctual, fast and comfortable as we would like... but we do not compromise on passenger safety!" - wrote the head of the ministry.

The accident happened when several passengers suffered burns from escaping steam on a motor train near Hodász on Monday, according to Mávinform.

The engine train's cooling water boiled over - presumably due to a technical fault - and the steam coming out of the tank caused burns to several passengers, the railway company announced.
