Péter Szijjártó responded to the speech of the Luxembourg Foreign Minister in a video message

"And now my colleague from Luxembourg, whose favorite sport is criticizing the Hungarians, to put it mildly. Yesterday, he spoke after me in the Security Council and said that they are not attacking us because we want peace, but because we are not in solidarity," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

"Now, we Hungarians have accepted more than one million refugees from Ukraine. I am not exactly aware of the Luxembourg numbers,

but probably not even close to that,

and we represent a nation whose members are dying in increasing numbers in this war,” he said.

"Now I assume, and at the same time I hope, that not a single Luxembourger has died in the war in Ukraine, nor will he," said Péter Szijjártó.

"At the same time, to make such a statement, specifically towards us, the Hungarians, specifically on the part of a Luxembourg foreign minister, I think we should at least reject it"

- summed up his opinion.
