A California start-up company recently received permission from the US Federal Aviation Administration to test a flying car, reports JNS.
The agency's "airworthiness certificate" for Alef Aeronautics' Model A flying car
"the first time such a vehicle has received US government approval to fly".
Alef aims to start selling its all-electric car, which can take off and land vertically and drive on roads, by the end of 2025.

Alef co-founder and CEO Jim Dukhovny said Jewish values and the flying car from the movie "Back to the Future" inspired him to start the company.
The promised range of the vehicle is 320 kilometers on land and 177 kilometers in the air.
