Vitaly Volodymyrovich Klitschko, a former heavyweight professional boxer, politician, and currently the mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, said something.

The former wrestler, who went by the nickname Vasököl - who was born in Kyrgyzstan, by the way - demanded the immediate introduction of the sanctions promised by the EU and NATO member states, but this is not so interesting, sanctions and distancing are demanded or committed by everyone these days, and people don't even notice. What was more interesting to me was the Ukrainian politician's comment on a historical scale. I quote the title of the article because it is striking:

"Klitschko: Kiev was already a huge city when Moscow was just a swamp."

Wow, that's why it's there.

Vitali Klitschko wrote on Facebook that Russia was once Kiev (here he meant Kievan Rus), and Kiev was already a huge city when no one would have seen from the distant swamp that one day Moscow would stand on it. (End of quote.)

Well, that's right, Kiev was the capital of Kievan Rus. What the Russians thought was Russian, the Ukrainians thought was Ukrainian - although there is no such people - but that doesn't matter. Taxes were paid to us in the early Middle Ages, so "ours". Our great painter, Pál Vágó (1853–1928), his large-scale work that can be viewed in the Hungarian National Gallery faithfully reproduces the breath of history: "Hungarians before Kiev".

By the way, there is no sense in such millennial remittances. Under the name of Nándorfehérvár, Belgrade was a part of our history - and thus our culture and literature - for half a thousand years. And Jászvásár or Milkó was already a Hungarian church center in Moldavia, when even in Bucharest there was not a single vityillo with the inscription "Here the Toi-Toi WC".

Every field belongs to the one who can keep it. Any state that can enforce its will is legitimate.

However, note that Kiev was founded by the Varangians - not by the Ukrainians. Yes, Varangians (North Germans) founded Kievan Rus (Niestor Chronicle). Ancients, Viking traders, etc. Kiev was not founded by Ukrainians. It's like Ukraine never existed. Lenin invented it.

So, dear Mr. Vasököl, let's stop this nonsense. New York was an island covered with forests and swamps even in 1600. Bicske, on the other hand, was already a market town! By the way, the Principality of Kiev was a Russian state. They often entered into dynastic marriages with Hungarian princesses in order to preserve peace. History textbooks.

Ukraine means that it is at the border, or the land of border people. Just as the German-Roman – in fact, from the point of view of public law, the Roman Empire, which was officially abolished by Napoleon – border strip of the Krajna, the Austrian territory.

"Kiev was already a huge city when Moscow was just a swamp."

It takes a lot of guts though. This proves that Kiev is Russian, dear Mr. Klitschko. Let's say I have nothing to do with it, I'm only interested in the Hungarian people surviving this era, and if our diplomacy is skillful (meaning: not Gyurcsányist), then we should come out of it with some benefit.

But it is on the same level as the Daco-Roman theory and homeopathy.

As the great Ukrainian poet Lenin once said: "Learn, learn, learn!"
