I'm quite confused. What's here please? Nowadays, there are also articles published in the independent, objective, i.e. opposition press, which not only publish true content, but - excuse me, sir - even criticize the opposition parties. Has the world turned upside down? Or rather, in some cases, did they restore reality? Who understand this?
It is true that the governing parties continue to be smeared with false accusations, they are unable to get rid of this good habit, but we are not surprised by this. For years, they have been trying to figure out how to present the right steps of the government as mistakes, how to twist a good decision and present it in a negative light. They get up and go to bed with this intention, it has become a reflex, a petrified habit from which they are unable to break free. But we know this.
We also knew how they tried to gloss over the left-liberal events they ran, their anti-national politics. This is how in their press, for example, utility reduction became a utility increase, inflation turned into Orbani, the Russian-Ukrainian war into a clash between the evil Russians and the lace-minded Ukrainians, and we could list the areas of distortion of reality for a long time. But we're used to that too.
So what now? What happened that 24.hu, which is not well-known for its support for Orbán, suddenly labels as indefensible the case of Gergely Karácsony's "micro-donations" and Hungarian Biden's (read: Karácsony) explanation? And what can we say to the fact that the employee of Mérce, who is used to double standards, suddenly realizes what we have been saying for a long time, because he says: "the problem with foreign support is not only that it specifically conflicts with the law, the opposition was only able to circumvent the law, but also that it is unacceptable within a democratic framework".
Science stops, reason stops! But that's not all, because he also provides advice to his readers. Believe it or not, he wrote: ideally, votes should be cast for parties and candidates that are supported by citizens from membership fees, and those that "are not supported by oligarchs, especially not by foreign rulers in their own interests " . (Emphasis from Mandiner's writing - ed.)
What could this turn of events mean? One can only wonder and speculate. Is something wrong between the opposition and its press, which has existed in symbiosis until now? The money is not coming? Or have so many Big Uncles of Reality come against them that in the end they couldn't escape? Do the series of financial scandals - the Márki-Zays' multi-billion dollars, the pounds and euros of the invisible Christmas donation box and other tales - make it impossible for the comrades to come clean? Is Dirty Fred's friendship getting awkward?
It cannot be ruled out that the author of the Standard suddenly became enlightened. The Lord said to him: my beloved child, open your eyes and see!
I am somewhat worried about the future of the author, because "over there" they don't usually tolerate someone talking out of the band, and even less if he writes the truth about them. And not only the comrades, but also the background power behind them, which is known to be non-existent, used to leave it without consequences if they wrote things like this:
"In any case, neither the weapons factory nor the shale gas industry appeared on the ballot, even though, given the facts that have been revealed so far, it would not have been an exaggeration if the representatives were dressed in company T-shirts instead of the colors of the Everybody's Hungary Movement."
But maybe it won't be a problem and the owner will forgive him if "our dog's puppy" unexpectedly bites his hand.
