Even after the postponement, there will be almost a full house on Sunday at the 41st Lidl Lake Balaton swim, which will also be performed by the President of the Republic, Katalin Novák.

The information provided by the organizers on Saturday highlighted that more than 11,000 amateur athletes will start in one of the three events at the event postponed to Sunday due to the weather, even after the cancellations. 9,500 people plan to complete the classic 5.2 kilometer distance between Révfülöp and Balatonboglár.

Among them will be Katalin Novák, the President of the Republic, together with her husband, will swim across Lake Balaton for the first time in the swimming corridor formed by almost 200 sailboats and small boats.

According to the forecasts, this year's swim must be completed in pleasantly warm, 25-26 degrees, but slightly choppy water, the announcement states.

The Balaton swim between Révfülöp and Balatonboglár was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, but due to the uncertain weather with the risk of thunderstorms, it was decided to postpone it on Thursday. Those who complete the chosen distance will be richer with a coupon that entitles them to a 50 percent discount on tickets to the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
