The Germans announced that they will probably give unemployment benefits to more than 400,000 Ukrainians in the coming weeks.

A total of about 410,000 people, allegedly from Ukraine, will soon receive unemployment benefits in Germany, and it is expected that hundreds of thousands more will receive benefits in the country before the end of the year.

This is the estimate of the German Federal Labor Office, which is said to already be providing aid to millions of people under the so-called "Hartz IV" program.

According to a report from Die Welt, hundreds of thousands of people who claim to be refugees from Ukraine may apply for German aid in the coming weeks, although the agency also reportedly emphasizes that these numbers may fluctuate significantly over time.

The labor office believes that by the end of 2022, it will pay unemployment benefits to slightly less than 800,000 people.

Alap also notes that if this mass of people were to fall on the German social welfare system, it would increase the German unemployment rate by more than 50 percent, since in December, about 47 percent of the unemployed in Germany already had a foreign background.
