The 2022 St. Stephen's Day celebration series organized by the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ) received prestigious international professional recognition at the 13th Global Eventex Awards professional competition, MTÜ announced.

The "Game of Fire and Light" was awarded gold in the Ceremony category, and the entire series of events celebrating the founding of our state was awarded silver in the Celebration Event category

- they announced, adding that the multi-day series of events on August 20 is considered by the international profession to be one of the best European events.

This year, for the 12th time, the most creative, innovative and effective events in the international events industry were awarded. Every year, the Eventex Awards recognize companies and agencies in several different categories that offer technological innovations, creative solutions or services to industry players involved in the event industry and experience marketing, they wrote.

According to the announcement, the jury is made up of the industry's most prominent professionals, renowned journalists from leading magazines, heads of professional associations, and representatives of congressional offices.

A record number of entries were received for the 2023 competition: a total of 761 entries from 49 countries.

St. Stephen's Day has been included in famous international events such as the 25th anniversary event of Qatar Airways, Hong Kong's New Year's Eve, or the final event of the FIFA World Cup

MTÜ emphasized in the statement.

They recalled that last year, the series of events organized to celebrate Hungary's birthday in more than twenty locations, with hundreds of programs, family and children's programs, light and classical music concerts, and traditional Hungarian flavors awaited the visitors.

More than 12,000 people worked on the preparations and the implementation of the four-day programs.

During the fireworks display on August 20, 40,000 pyrotechnic effects and 600 drones dazzled the audience, Roman candles, comets, fire mortars and firework bombs flew up from 74 launch sites, barges, barges and two bridges in Budapest. As a novelty, the organizers displayed symbols adapted to the content of the historical program, including cockades, the moon, and stars, and the spectators could admire the fireworks for about 4.5 km from the right and left banks of the Danube, they reminded.
