Herend Porcelánmanufaktúra Zrt. is remaking the broken trophy of Max Verstappen, winner of Sunday's 38th Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix.
Simon Attila, the CEO of the company, said in the M4 Sport National Sports News program that they were sorry to learn that this was the fate of the cup, but since, in his opinion, Herendi also plays an important role in building the Hungarian national image, they will replace the cup.
"The teams will decide who was at fault, but we will take the joyful and difficult burden and make it again"
- said the CEO regarding this year's 19th-century, oriental-patterned trophy.
Simon Attila pointed out that they undertake a perpetual replacement guarantee for all their creations, which is why there is also a duplicate of the Hungarian Grand Prix goblets in the sample store. The production of the frame has already begun, so the originally six-month production process will now be shorter, and the two-time Red Bull world champion can receive the cup in a few weeks.
The winner's cup was broken when McLaren driver Lando Norris, who finished in second place, opened his champagne bottle with the help of the podium, causing the cup to fall.
