The prefect of the Paris police had concerns, according to him, it will be a complicated task to hold next summer's five-ring games completely safely.

The portal insidethegames.biz quoted Laurent Nunez, who explained his doubts by saying that he lacks sufficient experience, since the previous two Summer Olympics in Paris were a long time ago, the first in 1900 and the second in 1924.

According to the prefect, it is not only a huge challenge that the last Olympics were held in the French capital almost a hundred years ago, but also that the competitions due in less than twelve months

"it should be held in a dozen locations, near the Grand Palais, the Champ-de-Mars, the Eiffel Tower, the Place de la Concorde or the Parc des Princes"

he said.

"There is a completely new opening ceremony along the Seine, a lot of space must be provided, the competitions take place in urban areas"

- he listed the difficulties that could complicate the safe implementation.

He also mentioned that while the delegations are traveling on the river on boats, around 600,000 people will line up on the banks of the Seine during the opening ceremony. At the same time, he stated: the security plans are ready.

The Paris Pentathlon Games will be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
